“Antarctica” - composed by John Foote. 2016.
The Donna Darkwolf dreams of going home.
One of the many illustrations I did for Donna's book, “The Immortal Kiss
of The Witch and The Soldier”.
After the storm the Mermaid Amatheia, clings to a rock, as she sleeps
at the edge of the Garden of The Sea.
This alludes to a story Donna had about The Little Mermaid, her own feelings
of her lived experience as a Priestess
and a Wiccan Witch - and how she felt about us.
In Greek mythology the lovely, dark-haired Amatheia is one of the many
Nereides, (daughters of Nereus and Thetis), who lived in the depths of
the sea.

Moon-Skinned Girl Dreaming by the Jardín del Mar
Donna Darkwolf Vos
In labyrinths of coral caves
Amatheia dreams the Emerald Night
This Moon-Skinned Girl in silent song
Rings her world with sparkling light
The Moon calls Amatheia to dance the waves
Out to dance until dawns light
Will find her Moon-Skinned beauty sleeping
Dreaming by her Garden of the Sea
Awaiting the moonlit night
Dreaming of her home
Where she longs to be
And when the Moon calls her
Again tonight
Amatheia will dance the waves
'Til mornings light
Will find her once more
Clinging to a rock
On some distant shore
Dreaming - dreaming
And as the Sun blows the Moon away
For one more day
Amatheia awaits the night
This Moon-Skinned Girl sings
In silent song - dreams of her home
In the Emerald deep
In her Garden of the Sea
